Supermarkets can be the backbone of a local and organic food system in the Carolinas. There are hundreds of stores and thousands of employees bringing us a constant flow of fresh food. Can we bring them solidly into the food movement?

Here is a list of all the stores in North and South Carolina. Once you are familiar with this overview, go ahead and delve into the practices of the industry and the different companies. Our two research reports, "Many Miles To Go" and "Losing Local?," can bring you a deeper understanding of what is going on, and include recommendations for the industry, farmers and consumers.
